Pineapple is a mobile Reddit client developed natively for Android, following the principles of Material Design 3 and implementing Android Dynamic Color. The application allows users to browse all major components of the Reddit service, including comments, posts, communities, search, users, and more. In implementation, it follows best practices for modern Android development with a Model-View-ViewModel architecture in tandem with dependency injection to maintain a clean architecture. The code also follows a modern networking flow with utility paging, coroutines/threading, and caching for efficiency. This project has gained traction on GitHub and other developer forums, with over 200 stars and open source contributors.
